چکیده
More Information www.agilent.com/chem/icpms Introduction Biogas is the term used to describe the mixture of methane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and other components resulting from the anaerobic fermentation of a variety of biodegradable materials including animal waste, domestic sewage sludge and municipal landfill waste. Because of its methane content (40-75%), biogas can be used as a substitute for natural gas and is commonly used at wastewater treatment plants and landfills for heating, electricity generation, and vehicle fuel. However, as a waste byproduct, it may also include undesirable components including volatile sulfur and halogen containing compounds, as well as volatile silicon compounds (siloxanes).

متن کاملQuantification and Characterization of Sulfur in Low-Sulfur Reformulated Gasolines by GC-ICP-MS Application
Reducing total sulfur in motor fuels has become a critical air pollution control goal worldwide. As countries mandate ever lower permissible levels of total sulfur in fuels, the environmental monitoring and fuel manufacturing industries have been forced to find more sensitive techniques for analysis. Gas chromatography coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (GC-ICP-MS) has the ...
متن کاملA Comparison of GC-ICP-MS and HPLC-ICP-MS for the Analysis of Organotin Compounds Application
An inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) was used as a detector for gas chromatography (GC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis of organotin compounds. ICP-MS is a highly sensitive detector with detection limits in the pg ng range, as well as enabling calibration by isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS). Calibrating using isotopically labeled organotin...
متن کاملElan Drc Icp-ms System with Dynamic Bandpass Tuning
Introduction Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) typically provides detection limits in the low-ppt to sub-ppt range for all but a few of over 70 elements. Unfortunately, for a handful of elements, conventional ICP-MS cannot provide the best possible detection limits. The detection limits for these elements are limited by plasma or sample matrix-based polyatomic interferences....
متن کاملCombustive approach for measuring total volatile phosphorus content in landfill gas.
A technique was developed to measure the total gaseous phosphorus content in biogas. The amount of air needed for a neutral to oxidising flame was mixed with the biogas. The gas mixture was burnt in a closed quartz burner and the combustion gasses were bubbled through a nitric acid solution. The phosphate content in the bubbling liquid was determined with sector field ICP-MS. The technique was ...
